Episode 49: Bioiberica

Hi, I'm Shane from Path Forward Formulator and welcome to 3Minute Thursday, where we demonstrate the speed and efficiency of our platform while formulating with our partners' ingredients. Today we're going to do something a little different and work from our demo environment so we can show you some of the new things we're testing. We're going to focus on ingredients from one of our partners, Bioiberica. Let's go ahead and set up to do a cap-in-cap, and then we can search for MOI. We see the recommended dose is 80 mg. This is a pretty fantastic ingredient that contains 60 to 75% hyaluronic acid, 10% polysaccharides, and greater than 5% collagen, which is important when you're looking at its role in joint and muscle health. If we go with just these two ingredients over here, you can see the outer cap's going to be a single lot, inner cap's going to be about a size four. You can see the cost estimates already starting. If we look at the fact sheet, you can see it's put the MOI and the omega-3 we've got in the outer capsule there. But what we're going to do now is duplicate the formula. And if we look at this one as the joint one, let's go ahead and build a second formula focusing more on supporting muscle health. We're going to go ahead and put 100 micrograms of vitamin D3, put 25 mg of betaine, go ahead and put some vitamin C in there. And at this point, we're starting to approach an amount that's just not going to fit in this particular dosage form, so maybe we want to go back and switch it to a powder-filled capsule. Very easy to do with Path Forward Formulator. Since we're focusing on muscle health, let's go ahead and add some branched-chain amino acids. With the addition of the branched-chain amino acids, the system will flag you that we're exceeding capacity. We have built in a capacity override feature that can be used when you know something's going to fit in a particular size of capsule based on your experience. We could always go back and do three capsules per serving. We could also put all of that in a blend if we wanted, leaving MOI up top as the hero ingredient for this formula. Here's where I'm going to show you some of the items we have in test. Now we can export a request for quote. It's currently formatting like this, showing you the product information, cost estimation, target, preliminary formula with the total inputs, and a copy of the supplement facts. We are now testing export of a quotation sheet, where you can fill in your company address, customer name, your quote number. It gives you spaces to add cotton, desiccant type, label. It'll put the formula in with the total inputs and also give you areas where you can add testing fees, your terms and conditions, etc. Last thing it'll do is drop in a copy of the supplement facts.
