Episode 45: Women’s Health Gencor
Hi, I'm Shane from Path Forward Formulator and welcome back to 3-Minute Thursdays, where we demonstrate the capabilities of our app by building a formula in 3 minutes or less. In this week's 3-Minute Thursday, featuring ingredients from our friends at Genoor and powered by Path Forward Formulator, we’ll create the initial formula and then show you how to convert it into different dosage forms. This feature is ideal when you're trying to decide what the best delivery of your new product would be.
We're going to start with the capsule version, powder-filled. Let's do two capsules per serving, 30 servings per container, with a standard cap and HPMC polymer. Next, we go to choose ingredients. The first one we're going to choose is HMR Lignans, with a recommended dose of 36 to 72 mg for menopausal support. Next, we’ll add Levagen+ — Genoor’s branded PEA — at 350 mg. We’ll put that in the capsule. Finally, we’ll add LIBOM-P. We know we need the potency set to 100% for the 600 mg dose, and we’ll put that in the capsule.
If we look at the fact sheet, everything looks good. Let’s go ahead and save the capsule version. Now we can duplicate, and this is where we convert it to a tablet. We’ll do a single-layer tablet, one tablet per serving, 30 per container, child-resistant cap, clear coating, single-colored tablets. We're going to use standard excipients for this one in an herbal base. We go to choose ingredients, and everything’s already there since we’re duplicating the formula — we just need to move these into the tablet. Once we do that, the assistant converts everything. We’ve got our cost estimates on the right, and if we look at the fact sheet, everything has converted over to a tablet, and we've converted to standard label excipients.
Let’s go ahead and save this version and turn it into our final one. We're going to choose powder — all others. We’ll do one scoop per serving, 30 per container, with a standard cap. Go to Supplement Facts, then choose ingredients. Everything is already there. Since we’re duplicating the formula, we just need to move everything into a powder. Let the system do the cost calculations. If we look at the fact sheet, it’s converted to one scoop per serving, it’s put the active ingredients in, and it’s started to put together a suggested sweetener system.
