Episode 1: Pectin Based Magnesium Gummy
Hi, I'm Rebecca from Path Forward Formulator. Welcome to our three minute Thursday series where we demonstrate features of our app while building a formula in three minutes or less. Please click the demo button above at any time to schedule your demo and learn more about Path Forward Formulator. Today, we will be creating a pectin based magnesium gummy.
You may already know that pectin can be quite challenging from an active load perspective, but let's proceed anyway and choose a natural sugar free base. For this demonstration, we are going to go with two gummies per serving and 20 servings per container.
Next, we'll choose a standard bottle cap and a 5 gram gummy size and a supplement facts box. We are going to skip the optional flavor and sweetener systems for now and choose rice flour as our coating. Let's also skip the sanding since we went with a natural sugar free base and we don't want to add any additional sugar.
Now, we are ready to add magnesium. Let's search specifically for magnesium citrate as Kilomax from Innos, as their material has been shown to perform amazing in a pectin gummy and at a higher than anticipated load.
For this demonstration, we are going to go for a lower dose of 50 milligrams of magnesium and let the app do the potency calculations for us.
The first estimates of cost appear on the right, as does the bottle size estimate and we can also view our draft supplement facts box now. As you can see, our supplement facts box has started formatting, including the 12% daily value of magnesium that we added and the base components for the gummy that have populated into the other ingredient section. We can go over the active capacity load to see what the supplement facts will look like at different levels of milligrams, but we can't save unless we are within active load capacity.
Let's go ahead and save our magnesium gummy.
And then view the formula and let's export the specification sheet.
Here, we will find the formula with potency and overage calculation and our overage section also includes a small bit of manufacturing variance. Plus, all components of the syrup base and their respective quantities will populate here. The cost of the syrup base components is already built into the system, which is why on the spec sheet you do not see a cost associated with each syrup component. Right now, we are looking for the supplier section. So we know exactly who to contact for a source of magnesium that will work in a pectin gummy and quite possibly exceed your active load aspiration. As you can see, the contact details for Innos populate directly to the draft spec sheet.
And that is a formula in three minutes or less using Path Forward Formulator. Also, remember to use Innos's Kilomax magnesium citrate for your pectin based gummy needs. We look forward to seeing you in our next three minute Thursday. If you are not already using our app based system, please visit pathforwardformulator.com and find out more to schedule your demo.
