Hi, I'm Shane from Path Forward Formulator and welcome to 3 Minute Thursday, where we demonstrate the speed and efficiency of our platform while formulating with our partners' ingredients. This week we thought we'd shine the spotlight on our friends at Balchem and build a replication of their vital trio. formula featuring their K-II Vital, their chelated magnesium from Albion, and vitamin D-III with benefits for immunity, heart health, and bone health.

Let's go ahead and jump right in. We're going to start this as a capsule, powder filled. And one of our new features we rolled out is the ability to adjust the margin or markup for your external manufacturing cost. In this case, let's do margin and let's set it at 30 percent.

We'll use an HPMC polymer. Let's start with the magnesium bisglycinate. We'll go ahead and put 50 percent of the DV in the capsule. If you look at this concept on Balchem's website, they're specifically using their K2 Vita Delta, which is in Path Forward. You could search for it by K2, by K2 Vital, or even by Delta.

Let's use the one percent powder. We'll put 70 micrograms in the formula. Then we'll move on and add our vitamin D3. We'll use a powder. And we'll do a hundred percent DV of 20 micrograms. If we look at our fact sheet, everything has formatted accordingly. Vitamin K2 does not have a DV, so it appears in the B3 section. And we have chosen to list the trademark name in bold. Supplement facts looks great.

We can save this. And let's say we wanted to do some rapid iterations. So we could actually duplicate this. We'll switch it to a single layered tablet. This time we're going to go for standard excipients. All of our ingredients are still there since we duplicated the formula. We just move them into a tablet and we're going to exceed capacity. So let's go back. Let's change that to 2 tablets a serving. Let everything recalculate.

Look at our fact sheet. Save this as the tablet version. And then maybe we want a powder. We can duplicate it again. Choose powder. This time we'll do one scoop per serving. 30 per container. We're going to go ahead and let our system estimate cost for our flavor and sweetener systems. We're going to assume natural with a mid-level. Now that we have a powder, let's go ahead and bump the magnesium up to a hundred percent dv. Let everything calculate and let's take a look at the fact sheet. Let's save the powder version.

And now we've got a capsule, a tablet, and powder version of the same formula. We can export the fact sheet. Here, it exports as a fully editable PDF. Export the specification sheet. And on the specification sheet is where you could go to the supplier section and see the contact details for both the K-II Vita Delta powder and the magnesium bisglycinate chelate, both from Balchem.
